Don't be jealous...

Normally, I don't think that I'd mind serving on a jury. I liked John Cusack in Runaway Jury. One of my friends who was called in to service had the distinct pleasure of being there when a potential juror was being berated by the judge for being late. The juror was complaining that she needed to be excused from jury duty because she was "tired." No joke. She was dismissed.
Whatever the case...this sucks. It's during my fricken' Christmas break! And it's TWO days before New Years. Say...did one of you send me this summons as a joke? Because if you did, you suck. There WILL be some "airing" of grievances at the Festivus celebration...
Love,
C
P.S. I just realized that my moniker is coming up at J-Cat...it's because my cohorts from work and I started a blog and we don't want our real names to show up anywhere since we're pretty much using it as a venue to plot the demise of our incompetent principal.

I have a juror badge just like that. I must report to the Santa Ana courthouse this Wednesday. Unfortunately, "commission sales" is no excuse and I will not have the chance to make any money that day.
I've actually served on a jury and we hanged the guy. I was totally unsympathetic and inquired as to whether we could pile on more to his sentencing for wasting our time.
I've decided that if they ask me to stand for a jury again, I'll simply say, "As long as it's not for a coon or a wetback, I'd be happy to." Then wait for the inevitable, "We'd like to thank and excuse the biggoted juror no. 4."

p.s. Cathy, you can postpone jury duty. Just send them a letter and say you cannot make it that week and they will reschedule. You don't even need a good excuse to get a postponement. On the otherhand, it's a good time to have call-in jury duty because no one else wants to be there either. Seems like there is a good chance lots of cases get postponed around that time.

I was thinking about revealing the little known fact that I'm INSANE just to get out of jury duty. But, a few friends have told me to keep the original date because being government workers, they most likely would not want to work on the 29th of December...
Did you get ousted from the jury pool Mr. Hang-'em High?!
You have my sympathy...
